Our Products & Ingredients

Q: Why do you use tallow and lard in your soaps?
A: We use tallow (rendered beef fat) and lard (rendered pork fat) because they are traditional, nutrient-rich fats that create an incredibly nourishing, long-lasting bar of soap. For centuries, our ancestors used these exact ingredients to make gentle and effective skincare. They are chemically very similar to our own skin's cellular structure, allowing them to be absorbed easily without clogging pores.

Q: Are your products good for sensitive skin?
A: Many of our customers with sensitive skin love our products! Because we use a simple, natural ingredient list and avoid synthetic fragrances, detergents, and fillers, our products are often much gentler than commercial alternatives. However, everyone's skin is different. We always list every single ingredient on the product page and recommend performing a patch test on a small area of skin before regular use.

Q: Are your products vegan?
A: No, our signature soaps are not vegan, as our primary ingredients are tallow and lard. We stand by these traditional, non-vegan ingredients for their superior quality and sustainability within our homesteading model. Some of our products may be considered vegan, however, we use the most effective ingredients for each product to ensure the most nourishing products possible. We will always be transparent about this in our listings.

Q: Do you use synthetic fragrances or artificial colors?
A: Absolutely not. The beautiful, subtle scents of our products come from pure essential oils and natural botanicals. The colors come from natural clays, herbs, and the ingredients themselves. You will never find synthetic fragrances, dyes, or micas in our products.

Q: What does "handcrafted in small batches" actually mean?
A: It means we make our products by hand, with careful attention to detail, in our home workshop—not in a big factory. This allows us to control the quality of every single item, ensuring it meets our high standards. It also means that there may be slight variations in color, texture, or shape from batch to batch. This is the sign of a truly handmade product!

Q: How can I make my natural soap bar last longer?
A: The best way to extend the life of your handmade soap is to keep it dry between uses. We recommend using a draining soap dish that allows air to circulate around the bar. A happy soap is a dry soap!

Ordering & Shipping

Q: When will my order ship?
A: We are a small family operation and personally pack every order with care. Please allow 1-2 business days for us to process and pack your order. Once it ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.

Q: Do you offer local pickup in West Weber, UT?
A: Yes, we do! If you're local, you can skip the shipping costs by selecting "Local Pickup" at checkout. We will send you an email with pickup instructions and to coordinate a time as soon as your order is ready.

Q: What is your return policy?
A: Due to the personal nature of our products, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. However, if your order arrives damaged or there is an issue with the products you received, please contact us within 7 days of delivery, and we will do our best to make it right.

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: At this time, we only ship within the United States.

Custom & Wholesale Orders

Q: Can I place a custom order for an event like a wedding or baby shower?
A: We love helping you celebrate special moments! We can sometimes accommodate custom or bulk orders for events. Please reach out to us through our contact page with the details of your event (date, quantity needed, any special requests), and we can discuss the possibilities. Please provide at least 8 weeks' notice for custom soap orders to allow for creation and curing time.

Q: Do you offer wholesale?
A: We are thrilled you're interested in sharing our products! We are open to discussing wholesale partnerships with a limited number of retailers who share our values. Please contact us to start the conversation.
