Welcome to the Short Homestead!

Here at Short Homestead, we believe that the best things in life are simple, natural, and made with love. Nestled in the heart of West Weber, Utah, our journey began not as a business, but as a way of life.

We started in 2017 with a simple desire to get back to basics. When we made the choice to live more intentionally and be mindful of what we were putting on our bodies, we quickly figured out that good, clean body care products were hard to come by, and expensive, too! We wanted clean, nourishing products for our family, free from the fillers and synthetic fragrances that crowd the shelves of stores. So, honoring the homesteading tradition of using everything the land provides, we began rendering our own tallow and lard to serve as the pure, rich base for our handcrafted soaps. The difference was immediate. Our skin felt healthier and deeply nourished by nature.

What started on our kitchen counter, with recipes perfected through trial and error, quickly grew into a passion we knew we had to share. And so, Short Homestead was born.

Every bar of soap, every lotion, and every balm is handcrafted in small batches to ensure the highest quality. We use time-honored methods and a simple blend of our own rendered fats, natural oils, and pure botanicals to create products that are as good for the earth as they are for your skin.
